‘ON THE GROUND’ SHOW FOR APRIL 7, 2017: Trump Attacks Syria as the Peace Movement Organizes and Remembers King…Is Syria Chemical ‘Attack’ Deja Vu?…Healthcare Professionals Push for Medicare For All…More Headlines

This week, the focus in DC is on war. While the Trump regime attacks Syria, and rattles the saber over North Korea and Yemen, progressives here and around the country took out time to mark the 100th anniversary of this country’s entry into World War One and the 50th anniversary of the historic speech by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. opposing the Vietnam War, which killed more than 3 million Vietnamese people and left their country to this day polluted by chemical weapons and riddled with unexploded munitions. We hear from activists Eugene Puryear, Medea Benjamin and Maria Santelli. Also Gerald Horne on the alleged chemical “attack” by Syrian military. Headline on the expanded push for Medicare for All by the Healthcare over Profit Coalition and Physicians for a National Health Program.
