EXPLORING DYSTOPIA AS OUR REALITY
When it comes to state violence, surveillance and repression, is our reality stranger than fiction? Today we’re introducing our new Arts and politics segment for each fourth Thursday of the month. Today, we’ll consider literature and movies that depict a dystopia—defined as a society characterized by human misery and oppression. We’ll talk to a teacher whose students are exploring how WE are living in a dystopia. GUESTS AND VOICES: Sheryl Byfield, Margaret Flowers, Kevin Zeese and Medea Benjamin. Headlines on TPP protests and more. (This is a truncated recording of the show. The final 24 minutes is missing from the WPFW station archive. If the rest of the show is located, we will add it here.)
